Auto-Rickshaw Drivers Hold Strike in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: General public in Bhubaneswar faced difficulties as the Smart City Online Auto Association resorted to an agitation today. The auto-rickshaw drivers held agitations at Lower PMG and Janpath protesting against the alleged humiliation by agitating bus drivers.
As per sources, around 10,000 auto rickshaw and taxi drivers participated in the strike. Notably, the auto-rickshaw and taxi drivers across the state did not participate in the indefinite strike called by the Odisha Driver Ekata Mahamanch on Wednesday.
It is alleged that some auto-rickshaw drivers were allegedly humiliated by the agitating bus drivers. The bus drivers are holding an indefinite strike demanding fulfillment of a 10-point charter of demands including pension, insurance, and death benefits.
