Bhubaneswar: An Assistant Professor of College of Basic Science and Humanities in Odisha capital has been suspended for allegedly sending obscene messages to a girl student of the educational institution.
The accused, identified as Biswa Ranjan Paital, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, College of Basic Science and Humanities, has been placed under suspension by the vice-chancellor of Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT). Notably, the girl student had accused Paital of sending her objectionable messages on October 31.
Several students had drawn the attention of the college authorities towards the matter, following which a committee was formed by Director Suryakant Mishra to probe the incident. During investigation, the panel found evidence against the accused and submitted a report to the vice-chancellor of OUAT.
