Budget Session: Speaker Convenes All-Party Meeting Today

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the budget session of the Odisha Assembly which is scheduled to start from tomorrow, Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha convened an all-party meeting on Monday.

The meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Arukha at the new conference hall of the Odisha Legislative Assembly. It aims to seek cooperation from all political parties to facilitate the smooth functioning of the house during the budget session.

Later in the afternoon, the BJP is scheduled to hold its legislative party meeting to chalk out strategies to target the state government in house.

Notably, the Budget Session of the Odisha Assembly will be held in two phases. The first phase will take place from February 21 to March 1 and the second from March 10 to April 6.

As per the schedule, Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal will address the House on the opening day (February 21). Later on February 24, Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari will present the Annual Budget for the financial year 2023-24.

In view of the budget session, several traffic regulations and restrictions on vehicular movement on the roads in the vicinity of the Odisha Assembly have been imposed by the Commissionerate Police. The regulations will be effective from February 21 to March 1 and March 10 to April 6.
