DS Kutey Bestowed with President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service

Bhubaneswar: Senior IPS officer and special secretary to the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Dhirendra Sambhaji Kutey, has been awarded the prestigious President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Kutey, a 1997-batch IPS officer, was also awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the eve of Republic Day in 2013.

The senior IPS officer is known for controlling Maoist menace in Odisha. His management of intelligence gathering and anti-Maoist operation strategies has helped to curb Mao ctivities to a great extent.

Kutey successfully demolished the maoist bastions in Gajapati district during his tenure as Superintendent of Police in the district. He has also served as the DIG Central Range, State Transport Commissioner.
