Illegal Firearms Unit Busted in Nayagarh

Kulada: Jagannathprasad police busted a country-made firearm unit with the arrest of a gunrunner and seizure of four firearms along with other equipment. According to reports, police came to know about the illegal firearm unit from an accused arrested for illegal possession of a firearm.

After ascertaining the location, the police raided Dimiripalli village under Odagaon police station limits in Nayagarh district and sealed the illegal unit while arresting the gunrunner from the spot.

During the raid, the cops seized four country-made firearms, and equipment used to make the guns. While the accused has been forwarded to the court, the police are tracing other persons who are possessing firearms made in this illegal unit, informed inspector Dilip Kumar Swain.
