Khordha Firecracker Explosion: Death Toll Climbs to 5

Khordha: The death toll in the explosion at an illegal firecracker manufacturing unit in Odisha’s Khordha district rose to five after another victim breathed his last during treatment on Monday.
As per reports, Dolagobinda Behera had suffered more than 70 per cent burn injuries in the mishap. He was undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack where he succumbed to the injuries.
It is worth noting here that the mishap took place on Monday at Bhusandpur village under Tangi police limits in the district when as many as eight people were preparing firecrackers at a house located in an isolated place in view of ‘Dola Purnima’.
In the explosion, four persons including a father-son duo were killed on the spot and four others sustained critical burn injuries. The other three injured persons are currently undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar.
