Narco test in state soon

The Odisha police will no more have to run from pillar to post to make a high-profile accused “talk like a parrot”, as they will be able to conduct narcoanalysis tests in their own city only, the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) may start undertaking the test on its own soon.
According to the sources,
the SFSL has submitted a proposal to the government to enhance its capacity which includes narco test and brain mapping. One of the major components of the proposal is the upgradation of SFSL’s lie detection division. The state’s premier forensic laboratory has nine divisions including the lie detection unit. It recently procured equipment to carry out layered voice analysis (LVA) tests.
The facilities, which will be available soon, will save precious time of the state police, which have been depending on centres located in Gujarat.
